If you can’t wait to see Sly Stallone and his macho mercs shoot up the screen in THE EXPENDABLES, guess what? You’re gonna have to wait.
Lionsgate has shifted the bullets-and-biceps bonanza from its initial release date of April 23rd, pushing it deep into summer 2010 — August 20th.
That’s the same weekend where Quentin Tarantino’s own “guys on a mission” film INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS made a handsome sum this year, so the studio is obviously looking for similar success with its own manly massacre.
Now taking THE EXPENDABLES’ place in the pre-summer action is the R-rated superhero flick KICK-ASS, which surfed some spectacular buzz at the recent Comic Con. Director Matthew Vaughn’s sardonic take on costumed vigilantes (adapted from Mark Millar’s comic) will now open on April 16th, 2010.
