Uma Thurman and her mutant feet have signed on to star in the indie drama biopic GIRL SOLDIER. Based on Kathy Cook’s book “Stolen Angels,” and under director Will Raee from a script by Stephanie Pinola and Karen Croner, the story centers on a nun (Thurman) who tracked down a band of armed rebels in Uganda who had abducted 140 girls from a boarding school. She managed to get them to hand over 110 girls they were looking to turn into soldiers and/or sex slaves and ultimately rallied parents, the government, the United Nations and the pope to help rescue the remaining girls and any other in captivity. Thurman can next be seen in the dramedy MOTHERHOOD and will be playing Medusa in the upcoming fantasy action adventure adaptation PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF.
