I feel like indie movies with a large cast of stars never work out. I’m not going to start naming them off the top of my head, but I think you know what I mean. Well here’s another one. Alec Bladwin and the button-cute Emma Roberts have just joined the cast of LYMELIFE, joining the likes of Cynthia Nixon, Rory Culkin, Kieran Culkin, Jill Hennessy and Timothy Hutton. Granted this isn’t an all-star cast or anything, but there is something terribly random-feeling about it. The film is set in 1970s Long Island and “follows two families who fall apart when precarious relationships, real estate problems and Lyme disease converge in the heart of suburbia.” It sounds like it could be another ICE STORM, the great Ang Lee flick about suburban malaise.
