Back in November, we passed along the news that the crazy-looking Dutch flick SINT, about a killer Santa Claus, had smashed box office records in its native Holland. At the time, I wondered when the hell the rest of the world would be so lucky to lay eyes on this demented Xmas treat from hell… Today, we’re one step closer.

According to Variety, Spain’s Film Factory Ent. has acquired the international rights to SINT, which comes from director Dick Maas (THE LIFT). Meanwhile, XYZ Films is handling North American sales rights. This is a good indication that we’ll be seeing the flick in the near future, although dates haven’t been announced yet.

Film Factory will screen “Saint” at the Berlin festival’s European Film Market, which runs Feb. 10-20. Hopefully soon after we’ll be hearing when this not-so-jolly St. Nick is due to visit all us naughty boys and girls.

If you need a refresher, check out the Dutch trailer below.
