
A few weeks back Warner Bros. announced that FINAL DESTINATION 5 (in 3D) is scheduled to hit theaters everywhere August 26, 2011 (read the magical story HERE), and with the script from Eric Heisserer already in the bag, there’s only one thing left to do before the film gets closer to production: hire a director.
According to New York Magazine’s Vulture, producers have three rookie directors in their sights for the gig, with one looking to take the prize by the end of this week (or next). So who might the lucky bastard be? Here are the contenders:
Tough call. All have impressive backgrounds, all know their stuff when it comes to visual effects (since it’s a FINAL DESTINATION film, it’ll be effects heavy, no doubt), and each one looking to make a name for themselves other than James Cameron’s bitch.
I couldn’t even tell you who should get the gig, though having someone involved in AVATAR might be good, considering FD5 will be in 3D.
