Meet 2 Transformers: War for Cybertron characters: Ironhide & Skywarp

For the last two months, we’ve been sporadically dishing out deets for the TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON videogame. Now that the game is exactly two months from stocking shelves (June 22nd), Activision has just revealed two new playable characters. One is named Ironhide, the other Skywarp. Wanna meet these badass mofos?

Before we make the introduction, let’s rerun the synopsis of the WAR FOR CYBERTRON:

The game Features two distinct storylines: the AUTOBOT campaign tells a story of heroism to save their home planet against overwhelming odds, and the DECEPTICON campaign tells a story of an unquenchable thirst for power to control the universe. For the first time in a TRANSFORMERS title, fans will be able to play the game with their friends through team-based online co-op, or go head to head in a variety of intense, online multiplayer game modes. The game features a sci-fi art style that introduces to fans the entire living, metallic world of CYBERTRON, as well as all-new visualizations of the iconic TRANSFORMERS characters in their original Cybertronian forms.

IRONHIDE:

Autobot

Class: Soldier

Chassis: Truck Primary

Weapon: EMP Shotgun

Abilities: Whirlwind, Dash

Description: Ironhide is the oldest Autobot on the team. He is the slowest Autobot on the team. He is also the meanest, toughest, orneriest Autobot on the team. He is most definitely yesterday’s model, but he was built to last – seemingly forever. He is a soldier, first and foremost, but his tough exterior hides a deep compassion for life. He is one of Optimus’ most trusted advisors on all matters.

SKYWARP:

Decepticon

Class: Scout

Chassis: Jet Primary

Weapon: Thermo Rocket Launcher

Abilities: Cloak, Dash

Description: Skywarp possesses cloaking technology which he uses to sow destruction upon his enemies. Skywarp isn’t the most intelligent Transformers character in the Decepticon force, so he needs to be continually guided and told what to do. Regardless, once set upon a path, Skywarp will achieve his goal with quiet, ruthless efficiency.

Sounds cool, right? No? What the hell do I know, my heavy gaming days were limited to a 16-bit Sega Genesis!
