Eastwick gets axed

Have you been glued to ABC on Wednesday nights this season, getting sucked into the witching world of Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman in EASTWICK? No? Don’t worry… it appears that nobody else has either.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC has officially not ordered any more episodes of the series for next season, giving the show the proverbially axe after its debut season. Someone out there just shed a tear… the problem is, it was the only one who has actually sat down and watched the show.

Not that anyone thought basing a TV show on THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK, the original novel by John Updike or the 1987 movie starring Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer, was a good idea. Actually, I’m not sure who’s idea it was in the first place. Hopefully they’re getting axed from ABC right along with it.
