After CLOVERFIELD hit big, I thought we’d be seeing a shitload of imitators, but surprisingly, it’s been pretty dry. So even though Daniel Stamm’s exorcism flick COTTON is inspired by the style of CLOVERFIELD, I’m ok with it… since we haven’t been bombarded with this style of film-making just yet.
The boys at Bloody-D scored the first ever still from COTTON today, and my-oh-my does it look f*cked up! As if I should be surprised, as the film is from producer Eli Roth, who apparently has time to act and produce, but doesn’t have time to actually sit down and direct anymore.
COTTON goes a bit like this: an evangelical minister turns against religion and decides to participate in a documentary in which he practices his last exorcism.
With this chick as his last exorcism, it looks like we’re gonna be in for a wild ride! Wow. The potential for this movie to blow our minds is there, and with the growing success of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, I have a feeling this may, indeed, be a huge hit!
The flick stars Patrick Fabian, Iris Bahr, Louis Herthum, Ashley Bell, Tony Bentley, Caleb Jones, Shanna Forrestall, Allen Boudreaux, Denise Lee, Becky Fly, Logan Craig Reid, and Jamie Alyson Caudle.
