New Black Death hottie

I believe that pretty soon, many of us will be very interested in catching BLACK DEATH. No, I’m not attempting to make some sort of weird “swine flu” connection. I’m actually referring to SEVERANCE director Christopher Smith’s upcoming medieval-times horror flick (not the restaurant).

The last time we wrote about DEATH, it was to state that the role of lead hottie had switched from Lena Heady to Famke Janssen (100 FEET). Now, the latest news is that of another shift in hottie lead casting. Apparently, Ms. Janssen is now out and Caprice van Houten (above) is now taking on the role. I say, have Lena, Famke, and Caprice all dress in sexy medieval garb and have an all-out, gladiator-style battle for 90 minutes and make that your movie. But what do I know?

BLACK DEATH’s plot is set during the time of the first outbreak of bubonic plague in England where a young monk is tasked with learning the truth about reports of people being brought back to life, a mission that pulls him toward a village ruler who has made a dark pact with evil forces.

I haven’t seen a good medieval-themed horror outing since ARMY OF DARKNESS. I believe DEATH is up for the challenge, though. The rest of the cast includes Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, John Lynch, Tim McInnerny, and Johnny Harris. It’s set to release some time in 2010.
