News from Fango has PREY (the one not directed by Darrell Roodt) set to begin production in the Land Down Under under the eye of director George Miller. The film, which looks to distance itself from fellow Aussie horror flick WOLF CREEK (PREY has been in development for over four years), has yet to reveal it’s cast, but the crew led by producers Robert Galinsky and Elizabeth Howatt-Jackman are more than excited to get underway.

“It’s more of a supernatural death film than a slasher movie,” says Galinsky. “PREY has some brilliant killings, a really dark sexual twist and a bad aboriginal curse. That’s why we didn’t want to go for government funding. For one thing, it would take too long, and it doesn’t paint a nice picture of what can happen on your little holiday. We hope that the end product is something you and everyone loves and that everyone has nightmares and become dysfunctional for the rest of their lives because of it.”

PREY, following the footsteps of 1988’s STONES OF DEATH and it’s themes, centres on a a group of six on a holiday through the Australian desert, where they encounter a deadly creature of aboriginal legend known as Baal.
