Johnny B and the DC gang snagged some news on Ryuhei Kitamura’s MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN that should have practical effects fans giggling like schoolgirls.
According to the source, Kitamura (who also did the zombie gunfest VERSUS) is in the process of re-designing the creatures that will be at the heart of film. The plan is to use almost all practical effects with as little CG as possible. Cool beans on Kitamura’s part, since his stuff (like the knife fight scene in VERSUS) is best left in the hands of practical.
Adapted from a story by Clive “I whored out HELLRAISER for a quick buck” Barker, the script for MEAT TRAIN was written by Jeff Buhler, who is also in the process of getting his own project, INSANITARIUM, off the ground. To read more on that, head here.
