I don’t care how many times I read
about Preacher this week, I just can’t stop getting excited about this possible
TV series, and apparently no one else can either.
The folks over at Newsarama spoke
with Mark Steven Johnson about Preacher and they covered just about every aspect
of what’s going on with it right now. To sum up what was said in the very
long, and in-depth article, Johnson has said that he will be staying as true to
the comic as humanly possible, even going as far as using the comic pages as
storyboards. He doesn’t have any casting or anything yet, but does plan for the
show to run for 5-6 years, with each episode being a single issue of the comic.
If your a fan of Preacher at all, you’ll definitely want to check out the full
article
here. And for
those of you who aren’t as uber geeky as myself, the Preacher is a comic series
from the mid-nineties about a preacher who has gained the “Word of God”, meaning
whatever he says must literally be done.
He than travels across the country
with his fiery girlfriend and vampire acquaintance to find God, and I mean
literally find him. The series is really phenomenal and if it does make it on
screen, the stir that the Davinci Code caused among Catholics is going to seem
miniscule compared to the atom bomb the church will drop on this. Make sure to
check back here periodically for more Preacher news.
