The horror comedy FIDO, which
releases at the end of the month will not be a typical zombie movie says the films
co-star Henry Czerny. FIDO, which also stars Billy Connolly as a zombie house
pet,
is about the not too near future when zombies roam the earth. However, man has
learned to domesticate some of these zombies and then exploit them for work and
entertainment.
“It’s a wonderful
satire. It’s a love story on some level, of course, but it’s a wonderful satire,
and it’s a discussion, from my point of view, about the use of fear to govern.
Obviously, it’s timely. It’s so lateral in its demonstration, in its
presentation, and it’s so evocative and humorous, to a certain extent, because
this kid befriends a zombie as he would a dog. And there are people who are
terrified of the zombie.” says Czerny when
asked about what the film was like.
The film will also star K’Sun Ray
(who owns Billy Connoly as a zombie pet) Dylan Baker and Carrie-Anne Moss, (as
Billy’s parents) and finally Henry Czerny as a zombie war hero and the man who
runs the company in charge of creating collars that don’t allow domesticated zombies to
bite.
