Burton comes upstairs

I promise I will never do this again.

According to Hollywood Reporter, 20th Century Fox is looking to buy Mark Burton’s spec THEY CAME FROM UPSTAIRS, with the sale estimated at between $1.75 and $2.25 million.

The high-concept adventure is pegged as ‘HOME ALONE meets GREMLINS‘, which is an automatic thumbs-up in my book! UPSTAIRS originally went out as a pitch, and drew interest from several studios. Burton (whose other credits include MADAGASCAR and WALLAVE & GROMIT: THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT) however, decided to pull the project on the market and write the screenplay himself.

Not much else is known about the film at present, so expect to hear more about it in the future.
