Black Adam‘s Noah Centineo is ready to engage in more action by starring in The Recruit for Netflix. Created by Alexi Hawley, who executive produces and showruns the series, The Recruit is an action-packed political thriller with enemies of the state closing in on all sides. Netflix unleashed The Recruit trailer on Wednesday, blending quippy comedy with deadly consequences and scenes of intense action throughout.

The Recruit centers around Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo), a young CIA lawyer whose first week on the job turns upside down when he discovers a threatening letter by former asset Max Meladze (Laura Haddock), who plans to expose the agency unless they exonerate her of a severe crime. Owen quickly becomes entangled in a dangerous and often absurd world of power politics and mischievous players as he travels the world hoping to complete his assignment and make a mark at the CIA.

In addition to his starring role, Centineo executive produces alongside Doug Liman, Gene Klein, and David Bartis on behalf of Hypnotic. Adam Ciralsky and Charlie Ebersol also executive produce.

Rounding out the cast alongside Centineo and Haddock are Aarti Mann, Colton Dunn, Fivel Stewart, Daniel Quincy Annoh, Kristian Bruun, Vondie Curtis Hall, Byron Mann, and Angel Parker.

To celebrate the release of The Recruit trailer, Netflix shared a gallery of images and key art from the upcoming series:

What do you think about The Recruit trailer? Centineo sure has come a long way since he played Peter for Netflix’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy, eh? With significant acting roles in projects like Black Adam and The Recruit, I wonder if we’re witnessing Centineo’s evolution from heartthrob to action hero in record time. With dashing good looks, a winning personality, and stamina for days, The Recruit is the perfect vehicle for Centineo to show he’s got the right stuff to be a leading man and beyond.
