Shout Factory December Releases
According to Blu-ray.com, our friends at the trusty Shout Factory label have just unveiled their slate of 4K Blu-ray releases for the month of December. So get your Christmas lists ready! There is something for everyone coming out that month, ranging from the 90s live-action version of The Flintstones, to James Gunn’s creepy crawly horror film Slither, to the 50th anniversary of Charlton Heston’s Midway, to a Chow Yun-Fat collection. There is even more listed, so check them out!
Two interesting releases that are also listed are the Miami Vice: The Director’s Final Cut 4K Blu-ray and the director’s cut 4K of the Joe Carnahan movie Copshop, starring Gerard Butler and Frank Grillo.
Miami Vice
This release of Miami Vice will actually feature three cuts of the movie with a theatrical version, the director’s cut and something that is referred to as the “Original Alternate Cut.” The description reads,
“When detectives Ricardo Tubbs (Jamie Foxx) and Sonny Crockett (Colin Farrell) are asked to investigate the brutal murders of two federal agents, they find themselves pulled into the alluring and lethal world of drug traffickers.” This release is due out on December 15.

Meanwhile, the description for the director’s cut of Copshop reads,
“Screaming through the Nevada desert in a bullet-ridden Crown Vic, wily con artist Teddy Murretto (Frank Grillo) hatches a desperate plan to hide out from lethal hitman Bob Viddick (Gerard Butler): He sucker-punches rookie officer Valerie Young (Alexis Louder) to get himself arrested and locked up in a small-town police station. But jail can’t protect Murretto for long. Viddick schemes his own way into detention, biding his time in a nearby cell until he can complete his mission. When the arrival of a competing assassin (Toby Huss) ignites all-out mayhem, mounting threats force Viddick to get creative if he wants to finish the job and escape the explosive situation.
