Amazon Prime Video has unveiled an official Being the Ricardos teaser trailer the debuts Nicole Kidman as the legendary Lucille Ball.
Directed and written by Aaron Sorkin, Being the Ricardos revolves around a distressing week of production on the set of I Love Lucy. In the film, Lucille Ball (Nicole Kidman) and Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem) are threatened by shocking personal accusations, a political smear, and cultural taboos. Sorkin’s behind-the-scenes drama gives audiences a revealing glimpse into the couple’s complex romantic and professional relationship, taking viewers into the writers’ room, onto the soundstage, and behind closed doors. It all takes place during a critical production week of their groundbreaking sitcom.
In addition to Kidman and Bardem, Bring the Ricardos features a star-studded cast with J.K. Simmons, Jake Lacy, Nina Arianda, Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat, Clark Gregg, and Nelson Franklin also set to star.
Narrated by Ball, the Being the Ricardos teaser trailer takes us onto the set of I Love Lucy, and explains how Lucille Ball was at one time the golden goose for several entertainment outlets. All she had to do was work her tail off for 36 weeks in a row and then do it all over again the following year. It’s grueling work for certain, though Ball was known as a hustler of the stage and screen, and never once backed away from a challenge.
Kidman’s narration in the trailer is unbelievable and shows that she’s put a lot of work into replicating Ball’s signature rasp. With so much emotion flaring on and off the set of I Love Lucy throughout the film, this could be one of Kidman’s most memorable performances to date. One thing is for sure, fans of I Love Lucy are bound to fall head over heels when they see this footage.

Amazon Studios will release Being the Ricardos in theaters on December 10, 2021. The film will then premiere globally on Prime Video on December 21, 2021.
