Best trailer yet for End of Watch with Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena speaks Spanish

JoBloJoBlo

Out of all the promotional material we’ve seen so far for END OF WATCH, nothing feels more akin to director David Ayer’s style than this new, Spanish-friendly trailer.  Chopped like a fast-paced action pic heavy on character, this trailer reveals more identity, comeraderie, and story than anything we’ve seen previously.  When I think of a David Ayer pic (TRAINING DAY, HARSH TIMES, STREET KINGS) I’m induced with gritty, street-level danger and the character interactions of the leads.  If you look at any of his films, they typically hinge on two main characters with conflicting, yet similar ideals.  END OF WATCH looks to follow suit and I’m happy to see it.

As much as I dig Ayer’s work, I had planned on waiting til video for END OF WATCH, but with this new trailer, this has been moved into matinee status.  Naturally, the reviews will play a role in whether or not I enter a darkened theater for this, but ultimately I’m happy to see this finally get some marketing that fits the director’s sensibilities.

Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Micheal Pena, Anna Kendrick, America Ferrara, Cody Horn, and Frank Grillo hits the beat on September 21, 2012.

The very “arresting” Anna Kendrick…
