Eager to remake all the films featuring their classic monsters, Universal has, according to The Risky Biz Blog, apparently now set their sights on remaking the 1935 sequel BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN. The film continued the story of FRANKENSTEIN in which Dr. Frankenstein’s monster is on the run and persuades the good doctor to construct him a mate with his lightning powered black magic. The film was in active development about five years ago with AMERICAN SPLENDOR scribes Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini working on a script that would be set in modern day New York and deal with a woman brought back from the dead with lightning powered black magic but this time, however, they’ll be looking to THE ILLUSIONIST and THE LUCKY ONES writer/director Neil Burger to bring the unnaturally alive bride…um, back to life.
