Lately I can’t seem to surf the
horror sites without coming across bad movie trailers; and today is no
different.
I must confess, that after reading the synopsis for this one, I was intrigued
and slightly excited at the prospect that was supposed to be CARNIES. I have a
deep love for the traveling sideshow, and this trailer completely let me down.
However, I feel that I should let you, the reader, be the judge. The story goes
as follows: Sawdust in the Blood used to be a
Carnie compliment…not a description of a crime scene. There are a thousand
sideshows playing thousands of small towns in 1936 when the Knuckles Brothers
Show rolls into yet another town, ready to delight and dazzle the town folk with
amazing acts and puzzling oddities. As they set up their tents they could not
know that within days several of them would be dead, ripped savagely apart by a
seemingly inhuman force, their souls stolen from their limp and bloody bodies.
Step up, step up, ladies and gentlemen, the show is about to begin…
And it’s also where they introduce a
horrible trailer that makes me want to get kicked in the taint by a kangaroo.
The movie has some big names in it, including Doug Jones, David Markham, &
Reggie Bannister. You think that with talent like this, something cool would be
able to be produced, but alas nothing. Hopefully the trailer is just bad editing
and I’ll be forced to eat my words when the film gets released. Hopefully…
