Corporate retreats

Corporate retreats are all the rage right now as the second season of Prime Video’s Jury Duty switched up the concept to place their unsuspecting participant at a retreat for a food product. Additionally, Pretty Little Liars star Sasha Pieterse will be starring in the horror comedy Offsite with a cast of YouTubers, which is also about a corporate retreat. And now Bloody Disgusting has passed along the trailer for a horror comedy titled Corporate Retreat. The film has Ferris Bueller and Spin City star Alan Ruck play a psychopathic team leader giving his employees life-or-death trust tests at the event.

Details on the film

Joining Ruck on the movie is Rosanna Arquette, along with Sasha Lane (Twisters), Elias Kacavas (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Ashton Sanders (Moonlight), Zión Moreno (Gossip Girl), Benjamin Norris (Never Have I Ever), Tyler Alvarez (American Vandal), Kirby Johnson (The Possession of Hannah Grace), and Ellen Toland rounding out the ensemble cast.

Aaron Fisher, whose credits include Inside the Rain, helms the film as the director. He had also co-written the screenplay with Kerri Lee Romeo. Uri Singer (White Noise, Experimenter) is on board as a producer via the company Passage Pictures. Corporate Retreat comes from the distributor Western Film Services.

According to Bloody Disgusting, the description reads, “Described as ‘a gory mix of The Menu and Saw,’ Corporate Retreat centers around a group of young executives whose luxury team-building trip descends into a bloody fight for survival against a vengeful retreat leader.”

The Ferris Buller friends reunite?

Meanwhile, last year, it was reported that Alan Ruck may be reuniting with Matthew Broderick on a new project. The former high school hooky-playing duo were in talks to reunite for The Best Is Yet To Come, an upcoming comedy from screenwriter Allan Loeb with Jon Turteltaub in the director’s chair. The project is based on the French film of the same name, with Amy Baer producing via Gidden Media and executive producer Dimitri Rassam, who made the 2019 original. In addition to penning the script, Loeb will also executive produce.
