Yep, another vampire flick is on the way. While I can always go for the bloodsuckers, haven’t we worn them out at this point? Let’s give them a hiatus, they’ve been used and abused beyond recognition…

Of course, there’s always the promise of something new from the walking dead; something out of the ordinary. Some Brits across the pond are promising just that with DEAD CERT, which is currently in pre-production. Fangoria got the scoop about the project, as well as a look at the cast: Craig Fairbrass, Billy Murray, Steven Berkoff, Sean Pertwee, Philip Davis, Andy Tiernan, Lisa McAllister, Roland Manookian and Janet Montgomery (pictured below).

Producer Jonathan Sothcott had this to say about the flick: “Our vampires are scary and brutal; they don’t turn to dust when they die, can walk about in daylight and don’t turn into bats or mist.” He also spews these encouraging words, for us worried about this being another TWILIGHT: “I’ve always wanted to have a bash at a period Dracula, but it’s hard to put a new slant on it with audience expectations marred by all that mushy ‘love never dies’ crap, which I’m sure would have Stoker spinning in his grave.

For more from the producer, head on over to Fangoria.
