One of the top movies that I'm currently counting down the days until I can peep, is director Karyn Kusama's DESTROYER starring a beat-looking Nicole Kidman. Kusama is one of my current favorite horror directors after helming the killer psychological thriller THE INVITATION a year or so ago. Not to mention she was at the helm of one of my favorite underappreciated flicks JENNIFER'S BODY.
Anyhow, basically if you say "A Film by Karyn Kusama," I'm there. And if you're looking forward to this new film as much as all of us here at AITH are, then today we have a super special treat as not only has the official poster for the film just dropped but you can check out the trailer below as well!
Along with the above-mentioned (and pictured) Kidman, DESTROYER stars Sebastian Stan, Toby Kebbell, Tatiana Maslany, Bradley Whitford, Jade Pettyjohn, and Scoot McNairy and follows:
The moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.
Kusama directs DESTROYER from a screenplay written by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. Hay and Manfredi also produce the film along with Fred Berger. DESTROYER opens in theaters in New York and Los Angeles on December 25th before expanding into (hopefully) a theater near you come January.
