Dress as Myers?

I haven’t been a big fan of Rob Zombie doing a
re-envision of John Carpenter’s classic

HALLOWEEN
, but I’ve also tried to reserve final judgment on it until
it hits theatres and I can see it for myself. However with this new publicity
stunt that Zombie is trying to pull, I’m starting to think that maybe his
HALLOWEEN
is going to be a real flop.

If you click

here
you can head over to Zombie’s official
HALLOWEEN MYSPACE
page where he’s posted the following in the blog section:

Attention Michael maniacs, the
time has come! Here’s what I’m thinking, on August 31 everyone should show up at
their local theatre dressed as Michael Myers. We can do this! We can make this
happen! Imagine the shocked look on everyone’s faces when the lobby is jammed
with Michael maniacs! Show the world that Michael is back and ready to destroy!
Who’s with me?

Alright is he actually serious about this sh*t?
Come dressed as Michael Myers? I mean I’m a huge STAR WARS fan and
whenever I saw people dressed up at the theatre’s as characters from the movie
it was ridiculous. I can understand if it was some sort of horror convention,
but why wear a latex mask and jumpsuit to watch a movie? I’m guessing that maybe
Zombie’s film isn’t that good and he’s looking for some sort of gimmick to help
bring bodies into the theatres.

I’m sure some of you out there disagree with me
on this, so what say you? Publicity stunt or good idea? Spit some bullets below
and let me know.
