While on set of Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming mercenary actioner THE EXPENDABLES, the folks over at UGO asked producer Avi Lerner just how brutal we can expect this and the eventual RAMBO 5 to be? Say RAMBO 4 level brutality? According to Lerner, hells no! He reasons that RAMBO demanded that level of brutality due to inherent brutality of the subject matter but they’re shooting for something a little tamer for THE EXPENDABLES (and RAMBO 5) since they want this bad boy to spark its own franchise. They apparently plan on testing PG-13 and Rated-R versions of the film and see which one sticks. In the film, Stallone, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews, Steve Austin, Randy Couture, Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren play mercenaries who head to South America to take down a brutal dictator. Does that really say PG-13? Let’s hope not. The film’s set for release April 23rd, 2010.
