A new episode of the WTF Happened to This Horror Movie? video series has just arrived online, and in this one we’re looking back at the 2006 release Final Destination 3 (watch it HERE) – a movie that wasn’t as popular as the previous two entries in the franchise, but at least it was more well-received than the fourth movie was. Directed by James Wong, who also wrote the screenplay with Glen Morgan, Final Destination 3 has the following synopsis: Six years after a group of high school students first cheated death, another teen has a premonition that she and her friends will be involved in a horrifying roller-coaster accident. When the vision proves true, the student and her fellow survivors must deal with the repercussions of cheating the Grim Reaper.
The film stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ryan Merriman, Alexz Johnson, Kris Lemche, Sam Easton, Jesse Moss, Gina Holden, Texas Battle, Chelan Simmons, Crystal Lowe, and Amanda Crew.
This is what the WTF Happened to This Horror Movie series is all about: Hollywood has had its fair share of historically troubled productions. Whether it was casting changes, actor deaths, fired directors, in-production rewrites, constant delays, budget cuts or studio edits, these films had every intention to be a blockbuster, but were beset with unforeseen disasters. Sometimes huge hits, sometimes box office bombs. Either way, we have to ask: WTF Happened To This Horror Movie?
