It was only a month ago when we learned that 20th Century Fox had picked up THE LEVIATHAN, based on director Ruairi Robinson's awesome proof-of-concept trailer. Now another trippy sci-fi short has caught the attention of Fox with plans to expand the story to bring it to the big screen.
Deadline is reporting that Iranian-American filmmaker Saman Kesh's CONTROLLER with REAL STEEL director Shawn Levy set to produce. Relative unknown Alev Aydin is writing the screenplay.
CONTROLLER is described as…
…a sci-fi rescue film that turns the damsel-in-distress trope upside down. It is set in the homogenized future of New-Taipei, where an imprisoned young woman who has enormous psychic powers perpetrates her own rescue by taking physical control of her boyfriend, turning him into a helmeted Terminator.
You can check out the proof-of-concept short below. I think it's pretty badass.
