I keep forgetting that an update of MR. PEABODY & SHERMAN is on the way. To be fair, we haven’t gotten a lot from it. The bulk of the film’s news had much to do with casting the voice actors, especially Robert Downey Jr.‘s involvement. Well, now lack there of since he dropped out. MODERN FAMILY’s Ty Burrell took over as voice of Mr. Peabody.

The film isn’t due out until next year but we finally have some great stills to give us a clearer picture.

“GERONIMO!”

Synopsis:

Using his most ingenious invention, the WABAC machine, Mr. Peabody and his adopted boy Sherman hurtle back in time to experience world-changing events first-hand and interact with some of the greatest characters of all time. They find themselves in a race to repair history and save the future.

The fact that this cartoon, which was a segment from THE ROCKY & BULLWINKLE SHOW was last relevant in the early 60s makes it prime for a comeback. I’ve seen quite a few episodes because my mom loved the show. She ended up watching the show after it was already over and they were doing re-runs. I think the kids might like this one, and it’s a nice bit of nostalgia for the grow-ups.

MR. PEABODY & SHERMAN is due out March 14, 2014.
