Guy Pearce is all witty one-liners in the new Lockout clip

Remember a few years ago when there was all that talk about another ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK movie, possibly starring Gerard Butler? The news just went from bad to worse on that one, but it did rekindle a desire to see the Snake Plissken badass type antihero on the big screen again.

Well, this new scene from LOCKOUT may be the first hint that the movie could be a valid successor to the John Carpenter classic. This scene has more witty and quotable one-liner’s from Snow (Guy Pearce) that I am finding it difficult to pick just one to make my new ringtone. It may have to be the corn line.

LOCKOUT follows Snow, a loose-cannon government agent convicted of a crime which he did not commit. When it comes to breaking the rules, he is the best in the business. He is offered his freedom if he can rescue the President’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from a prison in space which has been overtaken by its prisoners.

Coming from Luc Besson, one can expect lots of over the top violence and well staged set pieces. I am a fan of TAKEN and THE TRANSPORTER, but this actually looks a cut above those films. Having Maggie Grace doesn’t hurt either.

LOCKOUT opens April 20, 2012
