Hayden Christensen wants to reunite the Star Wars prequel cast for a live-action Clone Wars series

Hello there…

Recently, while Ewan McGregor did promotion for his recent film The End of Oak Street, he showed his enthusiasm for returning to the Star Wars universe. The star says he’s interested more Obi-Wan Kenobi seasons, saying, “I’m ready whenever they are. They just seem to not be ready, but I’m up for it. At the end of the ‘Obi-Wan’ series, I’m walking off into the desert and I’ve decided to leave. I’ve realized I can’t keep the pressure on Luke. I realized he has to have his own childhood, so I leave him with Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru. And I wander off… and Qui-Gon’s back. And we go off… but where are we going?“

Christensen wants to get the band back together

Meanwhile, Hayden Christensen, who portrayed Anakin Skywalker in the prequels, then again in Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka, has a more ambitious idea. According to GamesRadar, Christensen recently appeared on the Hey Jonas podcast, where Kevin Jonas asked him if Anakin would get his own show and Christensen said he’d rather reunite with the prequel cast for a Clone Wars live-action adaptation. He told Jonas,

I know that Ewan McGregor would love to do more with it. I’ve heard Natalie [Portman] would love to come back. Sam Jackson. So you could get the band back together.”

Anakin Skywalker’s Jedi apprentice, Ahsoka, debuted in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and became a popular character, which led to her own live-action spin-off. Christensen returned as Skywalker, with Rosario Dawson taking on the titular role.

Maul: Shadow Lord

As far as other spin-offs from the prequel era of the Star Wars franchise, Disney+ also debuted an animated spin-off for Darth Maul, titled Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord, and has been given a second season greenlight. Executive producer Dave Filoni teased, “Maul is afraid, and power is the only way that he knows to really overcome this fear of his. This fear of being insignificant, of being forgotten, of being a nothing.“

Voice actor Sam Witwer added, “You’ve got to remember this guy was an athlete training for the Olympics and then he never got to go. Or rather, on his first Olympic trials, he botched the landing, right? He’s the guy who peaked too early and is thinking, Oh, I could have been and I should have been… And if he were more wise, he would be able to figure out a way through that. But unfortunately, he was not trained to have that reflectivity.“
