The Lizard speaks!

Up to this point I wasn’t really sure if The Lizard would actually speak or be a mindless beast in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, but it appears he will ssspppeeeaak, as is demonstrated in this new featurette for the upcoming film.  Played by Rhys Ifan, The Lizard, aka Curt Conners, first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #6 in 1963 and has been a staple villain for the webhead ever since.

Liisssttteen Up:

It seems that Sony has opened the floodgates of promotional material with numerous clips, images, products, and featurettes like this one.  With such a massive onslaught it’s hard to discern if Sony is in panic mode or if it’s just business as usual.  If you’ll recall when JOHN CARTER hit troubled marketing waters a similar thing happened; new trailers, clips, etc. began hitting daily, like a series of blows from Neo after he becomes one with the Matrix.

I’ll leave it up to you to discuss the pros and cons of The Lizard’s voice and mannerisms below…

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN swings into action on July 3, 2012.
