Alien: Covenant prequel novel sounds lame as hell

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Okay, so let’s break this down a bit.

First, we heard that there was to be an ALIEN: COVENANT sequel novel called ALIEN COVENANT 2: THE OFFICIAL SEQUEL TO THE BLOCKBUSTER FILM. Then we got word that the book was to be called ALIEN: ORIGINS. Now we have word that the book is called ALIEN: COVENANT – ORIGINS. But the book – which is now available to pre-order on Amazon – is labeled ALIEN COVENANT 2: THE OFFICIAL PREQUEL TO THE BLOCKBUSTER FILM.

Urgh. Whatever at this point.

Truthfully, it matters less and less in my eyes what the book is called as today we also got word on the book’s synopsis, and I for one am entirely disappointed with the route the novel has chosen to take.

You can read the official synopsis via Titan Books below, but the gist of it is, the book will follow the crew of the Covenant before and after they launch off into space. Meaning the new book will NOT follow David and Shaw but will instead follow the new film’s crew who we don’t give one single sh*t about.

Why, God, why?

You can read the official synopsis below and then weep. After you finish with all that, head on over to social media and let us know what you think of the official synopsis for Alan Dean Foster’s ALIEN: COVENANT – ORIGINS on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram

ALIEN: COVENANT – ORIGINS synopsis via Titan Books:

As the colony ship Covenant prepares for launch, and the final members of the crew are chosen, a series of violent events reveal a conspiracy to sabotage the launch. Yet the perpetrators remain hidden behind a veil of secrecy. The threat reaches all the way up to Hideo Yutani—the head of the newly merged Weyland-Yutani Corporation—when his daughter is kidnapped. Is the conspiracy the product of corporate espionage, or is it something even more sinister?

While Captain Jacob Branson and his wife Daniels prepare the ship, Security chief Dan Lopé signs a key member of his team, and together they seek to stop the technologically advanced saboteurs before anyone else is killed, and the ship itself is destroyed in orbit.

Again, you can pre-order ALIEN: COVENANT – ORIGINS on Amazon RIGHT HERE.

Enjoy?
