“Chuck” co-creator & Walden set to discover ‘great magical secret’ in new Houdini flick

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Truth be told I’m not sure how much this next project is going to cross into our beloved genre but it is one slow-ass news day out there so I’m going to roll with it anyway!

In case you couldn’t put it together from the title of this article, I’m talking about a brand new flick on the way based on the legendary Harry Houdini. The famed magician was full of mysterious secrets and this latest project plans to unleash the greatest one.

According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog “Chuck” co-creator Chris Fedak has been tapped with the task of penning the untitled thriller for director Mark Waters. Coming at us courtesy of Walden, this project has actually been in the works since 2006, when Brett Merryman had wrote the initial screenplay. Since then Josh Klausner has also worked on the script but Fedak will be coming in to do a complete overhaul.

The story centers on an unsuspecting high schooler who finds himself in grave danger when he discovers a family secret leading back to the legendary illusionist. Using clues left through the centuries, he must race to uncover the greatest magical secret known to man.

Jessica Tuchinsky and Mr. Waters, of Watermark Pictures, will be producing the project alongside Jason Hoffs. Evan Turner and Michael Bostick will oversee for Walden.

So what do you guys think? This one sound like it have some potential? Spit some bullets below and let us know as we wait for more on this untitled Harry Houdini project to see if it does indeed fit in here at AITH.
