Elijah Wood is up to more evil in new Maniac stills

Our comrades over at Kino Gallery have procured a good number of hi-res stills from MANIAC, Franck Khalfoun's needless redo of the sleazy 1980 horror classic. Elijah Wood shows up, as you know, but so does Nora Arnezeder and some other helpless female victims. Again, half these chicks outweigh little Elijah, but hey, suspension of disbelief right. Right!

Also starring America Olivo, Liane Balaban, Sammi Rotibi, Megan Duffy, and Jan Broberg - MANIAC pops off:

Just when the streets seemed safe, a serial killer with a fetish for scalps is back and on the hunt. Frank is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank's obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed a long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill.

Still without a North American release, it seems MANIAC is poised hit German screens December 27th, France January 2nd, Russia March 14th and Brazil August 30th.

Extra Tidbit: The song "Maniac" from FLASHDANCE was originally written for the the 1980 William Lustig version of MANIAC. No joke.
