Fox Cancels Scream Queens

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Fox has officially canceled SCREAM QUEENS.

We had been teetering on the edge of this news for a week, or so now. First, we got word that Fox had canceled their spooky series SLEEPY HOLLOW after three seasons. Then we learned that (thank God, natch) Jeremy Slater's THE EXORCIST had been renewed for another season of blonde chicks acting like demons.

But as for blonde chicks acting like b*tches… well, I guess that shite just don't fly over at Fox.

Actually, it isn't Fox that's to blame (or congratulate) as I feel they want to keep Ryan Muphy happy as hell. It was simply based on the fact that the viewership wasn't there. Sure it started out "Twitter strong" but after that horribly, horrendously, terrible season one finale – and the across the board unlikeable second season – even I, at one point a mega, super, ultra SCREAM QUEENS fan, am not sad to see the series go.

Fox chairs Dana Walden and Gary Newman confirmed that the series had been canceled during a conference call with reporters this morning.

Gary Newman on SCREAM QUEENS:

“It feels as if it was a complete series. We have no plans to go back and tell more stories there. We won’t be seeing Scream Queens this season.”

Again, so sorry to see you go, SCREAM QUEENS, don't let the screen door hit ya on the ass on the way out. And one final SCREAM QUEENS: Killer Theory. Grace was the real Red Devil.

I will miss Emma Roberts as Chanel aka the only consistently strong aspect of the series.
