The Hatred Michael G. Kehoe

Writer/director Michael G. Kehoe's supernatural horror film THE HATRED (which was previously known by the title ALICE) didn't show up on my radar until a couple weeks ago, when it was announced that it will be one of the films showing at Miami's Popcorn Frights Film Festival next month. Now that I'm aware of it, it definitely seems to be one that I need to keep a close eye on as it nears release.

THE HATRED was produced by the HALLOWEEN franchise's Malek Akkad and stars genre icons Andrew Divoff, David Naughton, and Amanda Wyss alongside Sarah Davenport, Darby Walker, Gabrielle Bourne, Bayley Corman, Alisha Wainwright, Shae Smolik, Musetta Vander, Ronnie Gene Blevins, Nina Siemaszko, Andrew Matarazzo, Oksana Chester, and Mandy Newton.

The synopsis:

Four young women travel to their college professor's new country home for a weekend getaway, only to discover that the house has a malevolent past.

That malevolent past allows for a creepy present in the trailer, which surprised me with its approach to its scares in a very good way. This thing takes a turn I did not see coming, and that has me hooked to check out the full movie as soon as possible.

We'll be keeping track of THE HATRED and will keep you updated on when you'll be able to see it. For now, take a look at this trailer:
