Here are all the horror movies hitting Shudder this August

Like all good horror fans these days, I own my monthly subscription to the horror streaming service Shudder. I'm just going to assume you do too, and thus I wanted to make sure to share with you guys today a full list of all the horror movies hitting Shudder this coming August. 

Quite a few classic flicks will be hitting the streaming service this coming month including the likes of THE DEAD, IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS, SORORITY ROW, DREAD, HIDDEN, SEE NO EVIL, SEE NO EVIL 2, THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, BOOK OF SHADOWS: BLAIR WITCH 2, CHANNEL ZERO: CANDLE COVE, ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE, THE CANAL, HEATHERS, THE COLLECTOR, OPEN WINDOWS, SOUTHBOUND, and WOLFCOP.

Without further ado, here are all the horror movies hitting Shudder this August.

August 1

BOY EATS GIRL (2005, Stephen Bradley) A boy declares his love for his girlfriend, only to die the same night. He is brought back to life by his mother as a flesh-craving zombie, who sires more teen undead while trying to control his appetite for his beloved.

THE DEAD (2010, Howard J. Ford, Jon Ford) When his plane crashes, a U.S. Navy officer (Rob Freeman) must trek through an African landscape where zombies roam.

THE DEAD 2: INDIA (2013, Howard J. Ford, Jon Ford) As a zombie plague spreads across India, an American turbine engineer battles his way back to Mumbai to rescue his pregnant lover.

IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS (1994, John Carpenter) An insurance investigator begins discovering that the impact a horror writer's books have on his fans is more than inspirational.

SORORITY ROW (2009, Stewart Hendler) A group of sorority sisters try to cover up the death of their house-sister after a prank gone wrong, only to be stalked by a serial killer.

THE SUBSTITUTE (1996, Robert Mandel) After a raid on Cuban drug runners, soldier-of-fortune Shale must become a substitute teacher for his wife after gang members forced her out of the high school. He begins his war against drugs in the Miami school and deals with gangs with all-out force as if fighting an army.

August 2

BLOOD AND DOUGHNUTS (1995, Holly Dale) Stuck in an all-night doughnut shop, a vampire hunts a rat, saves a cabdriver from thugs and deals with an ex-girlfriend.

DREAD (2010, Anthony DiBlasi) Three college students set out to document what other people dread the most. However, one of the three turns out to secretly be a sadistic psychopath who uses this knowledge to gruesomely torture the subjects.

THE GRAVEDANCERS (2006, Mike Mendez) After a funeral, several college friends reunite in a cemetery and reminisce about the former life of the deceased. The celebration starts to go too far after they get drunk and begin dancing on graves, and as a result, each of them becomes haunted by malevolent spirits.

HIDDEN (2015, Ross Duffer, Matt Duffer) Living inside a fallout shelter, a couple and their young daughter face a mysterious threat from the outside.

HOSTAGE (1967, Russell S. Doughten Jr.) Pesky little boy Davey Cleaves stows away on a moving truck that's driven by volatile psychopath Bull and his meek partner Eddie. Naturally, Davey finds himself in considerable danger after he's discovered by the two no-count criminals.

SEE NOW EVIL (2006, Gregory Dark) A reclusive maniac (Kane) terrorizes a group of young petty criminals who have arrived to clean up a rotting hotel as part of their community service. After one of them is kidnapped, the petrified group must find a way to fight off a seemingly unstoppable foe.

SEE NO EVIL 2 (2014, Jen Soska, Sylvia Soska) Hulking madman Jacob Goodnight (Kane) rises from the dead to terrorize a group of medical students at a city morgue.

August 6

THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT (1999, Eduardo Sánchez, Daniel Myrick) Three film students vanish after traveling into a Maryland forest to film a documentary on the local Blair Witch legend, leaving only their footage behind.

BOOK OF SHADOWS: BLAIR WITCH 2 (2000, Joe Berlinger) A group of tourists arrive in Burkittsville, Maryland after seeing The Blair Witch Project to explore the mythology and phenomenon, only to come face to face with their own neuroses and possibly the witch herself.

August 9

CHANNEL ZERO: CANDLE COVE (2016, Craig William Macneill) Mike Painter returns to his hometown years after his twin brother became one of five children murdered in a case that was never solved. Old memories return to the surface when history seems to start repeating itself. A child goes missing after mentioning that she had been watching "Candle Cove," a creepy children's puppet show that Mike used to watch on public access in the 1980s around the time of his brother's murder.

August 13

ARE WE NOT CATS (2016, Xander Robin) After losing his job, girlfriend, and home in a single day, a desperate thirty-something accepts a delivery job in a remote upstate backwater. There he meets a beguiling and mysterious young woman with whom who shares a strange obsession.

CAUGHT (2016, Jamie Patterson) A couple invite two strangers into their idyllic village home after noticing strange military activity outside. They soon find themselves in a nightmarish fight for survival when their mysterious guests display aggressive and violent behavior.

THE CHAMBER (2016, Ben Parker) A three-man Special Ops team on a secret recovery mission and a civilian pilot become trapped underwater in a small claustrophobic submersible craft off the coast of North Korea.

THE ROAD MOVIE (2016, Dmitrii Kalashnikov) A documentary comprised entirely of footage from dashboard cameras from Russian cars.

August 20

ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE (2013, Lucky McKee, Chris Sivertson) A rebellious teen convinces the cheerleaders to take down the captain of the football team until a supernatural problem thrusts the young women into a new battle.

THE CANAL (2014, Ivan Kavanagh) A depressed and stressed film archivist finds his sanity crumbling after he is given an old 16mm film reel with footage from a horrific murder that occurred in the early 1900's.

HEATHERS (1988, Michael Lehmann) In order to get out of the snobby clique that is destroying her good-girl reputation, an intelligent teen teams up with a dark sociopath in a plot to kill the cool kids.

NOVEMBER (2017, Rainer Sarnet) In a Medieval Estonian village, a group of peasants use magic and folk remedies to survive the winter and a young woman tries to get a young man to love her.

August 23

ANGELBY Season 1 (2015, Per Hanefjord) Vera, a mother of two children, simultaneously loses her job and is left by her husband. Fortunately, she is offered a job in another town, so taking her children and belongings she moves there for a fresh new start in life. Unfortunately, whilst under way, she hits a boy with her car. Suffering from shock, she assumes the boy to be dead. But is it really Vera who killed him?

August 27

THE COLLECTOR (2009, Marcus Dunstan) Desperate to repay his debt to his ex-wife, an ex-con plots a heist at his new employer's country home, unaware that a second criminal has also targeted the property, and rigged it with a series of deadly traps.

DRUG WAR (2013, Johnnie To) After he's taken into custody, a drug lord must help the police bust his former associates or else face the death penalty.

LITTLE DEATHS (2011, Simon Rumley, Andrew Parkinson, Sean Hogan) Composed of three disturbingly sensual and terrifying short narratives – House & Home, Mutant Tool, and Bitch -  unified by the twin themes of sex and death.

OPEN WINDOWS (2014, Nacho Vigalondo) An actress refuses to have dinner with a fan who won a date with her in an Internet contest. In return, a man posing as her campaign manager, helps the winner to follow in the footsteps of the actress from his own computer.

SOUTHBOUND (2017, Roxanne Benjamin, David Bruckner) Interlocking tales of highway terror revolve around malevolent spirits at a truck stop, a mysterious traveler, a car accident and a home invasion.

WOLFCOP (2014, Lowell Dean) An alcoholic cop blacks out and wakes up in unfamiliar surroundings, and crime scenes seem oddly familiar when the full moon is out.
