Insane Doom Eternal gameplay footage brings Hell to Earth

Doom Eternal

The DOOM video game franchise got a reboot in 2016, and soon a sequel titled DOOM ETERNAL will be coming to PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. This sequel will allow players to control a Doom Slayer that is more powerful than ever while taking on twice as many demons… and experiencing Hell on Earth, literally.

As the Doom Slayer, you’ll return to take your vengeance against the forces of Hell. Set to an all-new pulse-pounding soundtrack composed by Mick Gordon, you’ll fight across dimensions as you slay new and classic demons with powerful new weapons and abilities.

There's no release date for DOOM ETERNAL just yet, but the first gameplay footage was recently unveiled at QuakeCon and can be seen below.

I haven't played a DOOM game since the Super Nintendo days, but this new one looks like a blast. The gameplay footage is absolutely insane, packed with action and bloody demon deaths. If I tried to play this game, I'm sure it would look nothing like what's contained in the video embedded below, so it's probably for the best that I just leave watching this video as my own DOOM ETERNAL experience.

Check out the footage and bask in its gory glory.
