Insidious: The Last Key first Sony feature to use touch & feel tech

The last word we brought you guys regarding the upcoming fourth entry in the INSIDIOUS franchise was when we shared the film's an all-new TV spot (watch it again below).

Today we have interesting news that INSIDIOUS: THE LAST KEY will be the first feature from Sony to use touch and feel technology that will allow "creepy sensations to invade viewers’ bodies" when they are watching the new film.

Oh. Good.

Sal Ladestro, EVP, marketing for Sony on the new tech:

The haptic immersive experience takes the filmgoer to the next level in literally feeling the visceral sensations of the frights and thrills of the film.

The haptic technology is a specially-designed vest that provides "tactile sensations on the body that are concurrent with the narrative of the film."

The new technology will be tested out at CineAsia and AMC Pacific Place multiplex, where peeps in attendance can choose to watch the entire film with the vest on, or just a 15-minute segment.

After this test round, Sony will begin negotiations with major exhibitors to bring the technology to other parts of the U.S. come the film's January release date.

Oh. Good.

How do feel about wearing a vest while watching a horror movie so you get to feel all the blood and eyeballs ready to jump and grab? Make sure to let us know below or on social media!
