The JJ Abrams-produced sci-fi thriller GOD PARTICLE is set to start filming in less than two weeks, and director Julius Onah is continuing to assemble a rather interesting and impressive cast for it.

The latest additions are John Ortiz, whose credits include CARLITO'S WAY, NARC, ALIENS VS. PREDATOR: REQUIEM, the fourth and sixth FAST & FURIOUS movies, and the upcoming KONG: SKULL ISLAND, and Norwegian actor Aksel Hennie, who recently had a role in Ridley Scott's THE MARTIAN.

It sounds like Onah will be taking Hennie back into space for GOD PARTICLE. Written by Oren Uziel and Doug Jung, the film's story

centers on the efforts of scientists aboard an international space station to tap into a new energy source — the mysterious “God Particle.” They inadvertently trigger catastrophic side effects.

Ortiz and Hennie join a cast that includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw, David Oyelowo, Daniel Bruhl, Elizabeth Debicki, Zhang Ziyi, and Chris O'Dowd, who recently replaced John Krasinski in the role of an astronaut.

Production on GOD PARTICLE begins June 10th in Los Angeles. Paramount will be releasing the film on February 24, 2017.
