Killer clown comedy Stitches laughs up some worldwide distribution news

Ah, a good old killer clown movie. Been all too long since we’ve had a solid one, and Conor McMahon’s STITCHES seems to have a good shot at filling that void. Starring British funnyman Ross Noble, STITCHES is a horror-comedy about a revenge-seeking zombie clown. Even if you hate clowns, you’ve got to be in the mood for this one..

As The Hollywood Reporter has it, STITCHES will hit U.K. cinemas around Halloween time, courtesy of finance and distribution outfit Kaleidoscope Entertainment and Signature Entertainment.

Kaleidoscope CEO Spencer Pollard had this to say: “Ross Noble has an excellent fan base in the U.K. and Ireland and with a Frightfest [festival] premiere as our launch pad, a healthy theatrical roll out in time for Halloween and the support of Ross himself during his very busy stand up comedy tour in Q4, we are excited by the film’s potential.”

It was meant to be the perfect 10th birthday party for young Tom (Tommy Knight), a day filled with friends and family and fun. Mum even hired a clown for the occasion, a clown named Stitches (Ross Noble). Stitches may not have been the best clown, but he deserved better than the end he met – a childhood prank played on the entertainer ending with Stitches dead on the kitchen floor before Tom’s terrified eyes.

Now, six years later, it’s Tom’s birthday once again, his mother is out of town, and his childhood friends are aiming for a party to end all parties. But nobody could have accounted for one particular uninvited guest: Stitches is back from the grave and means to have his bloody revenge on the children responsible for his death.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any word on when this painted freak will be hitting North America, but if all goes well, word on that won’t be far behind.
