The newest trailer for Neil Blomkamp's sci-fi actioneer, ELYSIUM, is pretty beastly as it clocks in at just over 3 minutes in length. We certainly didn't need 3 full minutes to tell us just how badass this flick was going to be but after watching that I feel like I need to change my pants because holy hell that was cool! The trailer features a ton of new footage with some wicked looking action sequences. Blomkamp's brilliant eye for the sci-fi genre is on full display here making ELYSIUM easily one of our most anticipated films of the summer.

In the year 2159, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) will stop at nothing to preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium – but that doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in by any means they can. Max (Matt Damon) agrees to take on a life-threatening mission, one that could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

ELYSIUM will hit theaters on August 9, 2013 and stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, and Alice Braga. Enough of the all the words and stuff, check out the trailer folks!
