Oldboy director Park Chan-Wook lassos western-thriller The Brigands of Rattleborge

Park Chan-Wook has decided to stay in the U.S. for his next directorial effort. The OLDBOY helmer, whose English-language debut STOKER will be released next year, is in talks to make THE BRIGANDS OF RATTLEBORGE, an ultra-violent thriller that sounds right up his alley. That title has got to change, though…

The screenplay by Craig Zahler topped the Black List in 2006. It’s a western-thriller that follows a sheriff and a doctor who seek revenge against a group of bandits who use the cover of a torrential thunderstorm to rob and terrorize the occupants of a small town.

No one does revenge quite like Mr. Park, so please let’s fast-track this sucker, mmkay?

Film will be produced by Mythology Entertainment and Red Granite Pictures (HORNS, WOLF OF WALL STREET). I honestly can’t wait to see how this come together.
