Orphan star Isabelle Fuhrman set for After Earth with M. Night, Will & Jaden Smith

Ooh…my condolences to young Isabelle!

I jape, if only, at the casting news that Isabelle Fuhrman (ORPHAN, THE HUNGER GAMES) is in talks to join the M. Night Shyamalan, Will and Jaden Smith sci-fi opus AFTER EARTH. According to THR, Fuhrman (above) will play Jaden Smith character’s friend Rayna in the futuristic spectacle.

As you may recall:

The story is set in a future in which humans no longer live on Earth after it becomes inhospitable. The elder Smith is playing a hero, while Jaden is his son, considered a failure as a warrior. When the two crash-land on Earth, it’s up to the son to save the dad.

With Zoe Kravitz (below) and Sophie Okonedo also starring, AFTER EARTH was written by Gary Whitta and since re-polished by Stephen Gaghan. The flick is due June 7, 2013.
