Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Remember the Ozploitation classic PATRICK? You know, the one about the killer in a coma with the crazy powers? Of course you do. Everyone remembers PATRICK and those who don’t will be sure to feel his wrath once again as the proposed remake of the film is finally moving forward.

Word is the PATRICK remake has begun shooting in Australia with NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD filmmaker Mark Hartley directing. If you’ve seen NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD, you know the film dedicates a pretty good chunk of itself to the insanity that is PATRICK. Clearly, Hartley loves the source material and is certainly the right man for the job.

He’s directing from a script by Justin King. The film will star Sharni Vinson, Rachel Griffiths, and the great Charles Dance. The re-imagining is expected to wrap in December so PATRICK will definitely return sometime in 2013. Check out the synopsis and sales poster below and, for God’s sake, don’t piss off PATRICK.

After killing is mother and her lover some years before, Patrick is the comatose patient in room 15 of a remote, private psychiatric clinic run by the secretive Dr Roget, who treats him as a guinea pig in his bizarre studies of life and death. When Kathy, a nurse who has recently separated from her boyfriend, begins working at the clinic, she is instructed to care for him. She is disturbed by Roget’s treatment of him and somehow feels that Patrick is trying to make a connection with her.
