Poe’s The Tell-Tale Heart, starring Rose McGowan, gets April release

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

The wait for director John La Tier's take on the Edgar Allan Poe classic THE TELL-TALE HEART has been quite a long one. Production began in October of 2011 and the first trailer hit the internet back in 2013, but now Alchemy has finally set a date for when they're going to be releasing it onto DVD and VOD: April 5, 2016.

Set in contemporary New Orleans, the film stars Rose McGowan, Patrick John Flueger, Peter Bogdanovich, Jacob Vargas, and Damon Whitake. It is

a haunting account of a tormented man, haunted by the heart of a man he murdered, who continually re-admits himself into a medical facility, in a futile attempt to escape from his pending madness.

McGowan's character has been described as someone who "may or may not be real".

Such a long delay usually doesn't bode well for the quality of the film, but I'm willing to give this one a chance to see how it is.
