Yesterday gave us revenge-minded Nazis from the moon, today brings us some Nazi zombie news. Weird trend, I won’t lie to you…

Momentum Pictures, Alliance Films’ U.K. distribution division, has acquired Richard Raaphorst’s FRANKENSTEIN’S ARMY, which we’ve been keeping tabs on for over two years now. (Here’s our last update, from May.) It’s an early buy, as the wild period piece-horror film is still in production in Prague; MPI/Dark Sky Films, XYZ Films and Pellicola of Amsterdam are producing.

Toward the end of World War II, Russian soldiers pushing into eastern Germany stumble across a secret Nazi lab, one that has unearthed and begun experimenting with the journal of one Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The scientists have used the legendary Frankenstein’s work to assemble an army of supersoldiers stitched together from the body parts of their fallen comrades – a desperate Hitler’s last ghastly ploy to escape defeat.

We’ll keep you updated on the progress of FRANKENSTEIN’S ARMY as news comes in.
