Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose join The X-Files as new agents

Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose have signed on to appear in the fourth episode of Fox's upcoming six episode "event series" revival of THE X-FILES. Both will be playing FBI agents; Amell the "smart and smooth" Agent Miller, Ambrose the "sharp and confident" Agent Einstein. You better be sharp if you have a last name like that.

Does this pair look like they could be a bizarro Mulder and Scully, or am I just being thrown off by the handsomeness and red hair?

Amell and Ambrose join a cast that includes David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis, Joel McHale, Annet Mahendru, Rhys Darby, and Kumail Nanjiani.

Amell is perhaps best known for his role as Ronnie Raymond on the current THE FLASH TV show. I'm not certain I've seen him in anything, but I remember Ambrose well from the days of IN & OUT, CAN'T HARDLY WAIT, PSYCHO BEACH PARTY, and SIX FEET UNDER.

Fox has set a January 24, 2016 premiere date for this new run of THE X-FILES.

Perhaps that will give me enough time to catch up on the series. Earlier today, I admitted that I've only seen an episode or two of AMERICAN HORROR STORY, and I've not seen very many more than that of THE X-FILES. I don't TV so good.
