Series based on horror webtoon Sweet Home coming to Netflix

Sweet Home

In January of 2018, a webtoon called Sweet Home made its debut online. Now, just under two years later, it has been announced that a series based on Sweet Home is moving forward at Netflix.

Created by Youngchan Hwang and Carnby Kim, the webtoon is set in

a world in which people turn into monsters that reflect their own individual desires. After losing his family, reclusive high school student Cha Hyeon-su moves into a new apartment where he faces these bizarre and shocking circumstances.

The Netflix series is being produced by Studio Dragon, with Lee Eung-bok on board to direct from scripts written by Hong So-ri, Kim Hyung-min, and Park So-jeong.

Song Kang will be playing Hyeon-su. His co-stars include Lee Jin-uk as the mysterious Pyeong Sang-uk and Lee Si-young as the "tough-as-nails" Seo Yi-gyeong, a character created specifically for the Netflix series.

Lee Do-hyun, Kim Nam-hee, Go Min-si, Park Kyu-young, Go Youn-jung, Kim Kap-soo, and Kim Sang-ho are also in the cast.

I had never heard of the Sweet Home webtoon before this Netflix announcement, so I'll have to see a trailer for the show before I can decide whether or not I'm interested in it. According to Deadline, Sweet Home has a tone similar to the Netflix series The End of the F***ing World.
