Shooting begins tomorrow on The Evil Dead remake!

After years of rumors and preproduction hell, it seems that the much talked-about EVIL DEAD remake will finally move into the final stages of production. In fact, the movie starts shooting tomorrow, April 11th!

Directed by Fede Alvarez, THE EVIL DEAD will star Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez (DEADGIRL),  Jessica Lucas (CLOVERFIELD), Lou Taylor Pucci (CARRIERS) and Elizabeth Blackmore. The film is said to be a reimagining of Sam Raimi's cult classic, rather than a straight-up remake (which is probably a very good idea) and will not stick closely to the original story. Ash Almighty himself, Bruce Cambpell, will possibly appear in the flick for a small cameo.

Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

The movie is set for an April 12, 2013 release, so more details should start flooding in within the coming months.

Jane Levy, not likely a reason for the new EVIL DEAD to suck.

Extra Tidbit: A fresh start for the beloved franchise or yet another unnecessary remake - what do you think?
